Description

A delicious citrus twist on classic crinkle cookies! These soft, chewy cookies are made with extra virgin olive oil and fresh orange zest, creating a beautifully cracked and powdered sugar-coated treat.


Ingredients

Dry Ingredients:

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • ½ teaspoon baking soda
  • ¼ teaspoon salt

Wet Ingredients:

  • ¾ cup granulated sugar
  • 2 large eggs
  • ⅓ cup extra virgin olive oil
  • 1 tablespoon fresh orange zest
  • 3 tablespoons fresh orange juice
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract

For Rolling:

 

  • ¼ cup granulated sugar
  • ½ cup powdered sugar

Instructions

Step 1: Prepare the Dough

1️⃣ In a bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, and salt.
2️⃣ In a separate bowl, beat sugar, eggs, and olive oil until smooth.
3️⃣ Add orange zest, orange juice, and vanilla extract.
4️⃣ Gradually mix in the dry ingredients until a sticky dough forms.

Step 2: Chill the Dough

❄️ Cover the dough with plastic wrap and refrigerate for at least 2 hours (or overnight).

Step 3: Roll & Coat the Dough

1️⃣ Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
2️⃣ Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.
3️⃣ Scoop tablespoon-sized portions of dough and roll them into balls.
4️⃣ Coat each ball in granulated sugar first, then in powdered sugar.

Step 4: Bake the Cookies

 

🔥 Bake for 10-12 minutes, or until the cookies are set but still soft in the center.
💨 Let them cool on the baking sheet for 5 minutes, then transfer to a wire rack.

Notes

Store in an airtight container at room temperature for up to 5 days.

Freeze dough balls for up to 3 months—bake straight from frozen!
